Main Street of Yesteryear
|
Our friendly brown bears
greet you at
Main Street of Yesteryear |
 |
 |
Opened in 1996, Main Street of Yesteryear
offers visitors to Shenandoah Caverns the opportunity to step back
in time to the era when families visited Main Streets across America
at holiday time to view elaborate, animated department store window
displays. |
| Visitors to the attraction can wind
their way down our Main Street to see windows filled with fully restored
antique displays.Experience the nostalgia of a three- ring circus
of clowns, jugglers, twirling elephants, and ferocious tigers powered
by 40 motors that generate the action under the big tent. |
 |
 |
Thrill to the sight of the Presidential Inaugural
parade, complete with miniature military units, bands, and floats.
Watch the fairy tale come to life as Cinderella goes to the ball.
|
| Earl Hargrove, the owner of Shenandoah Caverns and
American Celebration on Parade, has collected and restored many of
the same holiday window displays Americans saw at prominent department
stores during much of the 20th Century. Many of them are
on display on our Main Street of Yesteryear. History and fun unite
for a magical moment that you can enjoy! |
